Child Rights & Protection

Internal Complaints & Child Welfare Committee

The Committee exists so that a student or a member of staff who is troubled by something has a named person to go to, a written record of the complaint, and a decision within a fixed time. It hears matters of harassment, misconduct, corporal punishment, discrimination and the safety and dignity of children on campus and in the hostels.

The school follows the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and the guidelines of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights. Corporal punishment and verbal humiliation are prohibited absolutely, and any breach is treated as a disciplinary offence against the member of staff concerned, not as a matter to be settled privately.

Every complaint is recorded in a confidential register. The identity of the complainant is protected, and no student may be penalised, marked down or excluded for having made a complaint in good faith.
